The U.S. House has passed the bill adding sexual orientation to existing federal hate crimes law. George Bush, of course, has already threatened to veto it.
Neither the House nor Senate seem to have the voters to override a veto, and so life remains the same.
Andrew Sullivan has the best take on why this is all very two-faced, and Sullivan doesn't even like hate crimes laws!

I'm pretty sure Dennis Moore was a co-sponsor of HB 1592. Do you know whether Boyda voted for or against? I'm not finding a roll call on Thomas but maybe I'm not too swift today.
I don't know yet how Boyda voted, but it's important for us to find out. it's probably too early for the information to be posted. I'll post as soon as I know.
Here it is. Looks like Boyda is in the Yea column. Yea!
