The Kansas Legislature's priorities go wonky

By Diane Silver

What's more important: Spiffing up their own building or providing Kansas youth with the facilities they need to learn to be our future leaders? Such hard decisions these lawmakers have, but then again, who needs universities!

The Wichita Eagle's Richard Crowson has the right idea.

I think Topeka and Shawnee County should shoulder more of the tax burden for renovating the state house because they benefit most from its precense.

You made my day! This is such a good idea given that lawmakers think Lawrence, Manhattan, Emporia, Pittsburg and Hays should pay for university repairs.
