More on the "immorality" of gays, Gen. Peter Pace, Hillary, Obama & Sam

By Diane Silver

Thanks Tom Toles! You said, ah drew, what I was thinking about the comments of Gen. Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

What were you thinking, Sam Brownback? Oh yes, I see... It's that bigotry is always in style and attacking people who serve our country is always right -- as long as those people are the "wrong" kinds of folk.

You write about the importance of morality, Sam, yet you refuse to see the immorality of persecuting people for doing nothing more than being different. Yup, really makes me want to vote for you.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama seem to have difficulty saying that gays are moral. I agree with Joe Salmonese of the Human Rights Campaign that this is a bit worrisome. John Edwards seems to do a bit better.

Finally, The New York Times jumps into the discussion and editorializes against Don't Ask Don't Tell.
