Campaign finance trickery from Kansas School Board candidates?

Red State Rabble is reporting that a group of interlocking PACs funneled money to the most conservative members of the Kansas state Board of Education in 2002. Based on a review of campaign finance reports, Rabble says this “skirt(s) the contribution limits in Kansas election laws.”

These are the same candidates who are up for election next November. Apparently, Rabble has reported on similar campaign finance problems in the past.

A plea to my old colleagues in the Statehouse press corps: Isn’t it time to check this out?

For more information, go to Rabble’s post called “Right Wing PACs Funnel Money to Board Candidates, But is it Legal?”

You can see his chart illustrating the PACs and their relationships to each other here.
