On Becoming Public Enemy No. 1

Honestly, I'm speechless, and scratching Dubai off my list of countries to visit. Can anyone say "scapegoat?"
(T)he word "scapegoat" has come to mean a person, often innocent, who is blamed and punished for the sins, crimes, or sufferings of others, generally as a way of distracting attention from the real causes.

I must say I always read things like this as applying to any woman -- lesbian or straight -- who dares to do anything that isn't considered sufficiently feminine. Meaning that I know they're talking about me.
