Doublespeak Quote of the Day: The attack of the queer fascists

My goodness, we've kicked up a hornets nest. By daring to say that we're not, ah, particularly pleased to have our rights taken away, LGBT Americans and our allies are now being portrayed as the bad guys. The Big Brother tyrants of George Orwell's 1984 would be so proud.

In fact, the newspeak is flying so fast these days that I've decided to start an new prize for "The Doublespeak Quote of the Day."

The first honoree is Newt Gingrich. Note that Gingrich was pontificating on Nov. 14, ten days after a few churches succeeded in imposing their will on the country by taking the right to marry away from thousands in California. Gingrich told Bill O'Reilly:
"I think there is a gay and secular fascism in this country that wants to impose its will on the rest of us, is prepared to use violence, to use harassment.
We have a winner!
