Quote-a-thon: John Wesley

From the founder of Methodism, John Wesley: “Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the souls you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, with the zeal you can, as long as ever you can.”

Once again, this quote is via thinkexist.com.

Mark Twain on goodness

“Be good and you will be lonesome.”

I haven’t verified this, but it certainly sounds like Mark Twain. The quote is from ThinkExist.com. I like this quote because it backs up my theory that somehow, someway the concept of goodness has gotten a bad odor in our culture.
