Another reason to vote for Sen. Obama

By Nancy Jane Moore

I'm traveling, so I get my news in lumps. This morning I read about the Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers collapses; now I see that the Dow dropped over 500 points.

The NY Times reported the reactions of the two presidential contenders to the financial news.

Barack Obama said the current situation was "the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression" and added, "This country can’t afford another four years of this failed philosophy."

John McCain said that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

I can't respond better than Sen. Obama did: "Senator McCain, what economy are you talking about?"

If the economy is in such bad shape, how come Drudge was able to report this today:
"OBAMA BOOM ECONOMY: RECORD BANK IN BEV HILLS, $28,500 A PLATE!
Tue Sep 16 2008 06:25:55 ET

The nation's financials may be in a spiral, but cash is flowing into the Obama campaign faster than Marvin Hamlisch can play "Niagara"!

Yesterday, Obama declared how we are in "the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression."

Today he will host a dinner in Beverly Hills --- costing attendees $28,500 dollars each!"

I guess Daniel Patrick Moynihan was wrong about not being entitled to your own facts.

P.S. Have a safe trip.

This comment is chaff, and it is being used for the purpose of deflecting the reader away from the real issue.

Dictionary.com defines "chaff" as "strips of metal foil dropped by an aircraft to confuse enemy radar by creating false blips."

Don't be fooled by the false blip.
