AP's John Hanna analyzes how abortion politics combined with Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison's personal failings to destroy his career. The heart of the analysis:
“A lot of this is so inexplicable,” said Bob Beatty, a Washburn University political scientist. “For Morrison not to understand that he was stepping into a political minefield and he had to be extra careful is mind-boggling. But apparently, he didn’t understand it enough.”
What frightens me now is that this whole situation could revitalize Phill Kline's political career, weaken the moderate/progressive resurgence in Kansas and energize social conservatives.
What a mess.
