The view from the Heartland and the Beltway

I am happy to announce that In This Moment is expanding. Washington, D.C., based editor Nancy Jane Moore is joining the staff to add her inside-the-beltway view to my Kansas voice.

Nancy is a legal editor, recovering lawyer and science fiction writer. Having been raised by liberals deep in the heart of Texas, she understands what it's like to have your opinions mocked and ignored, but she keeps expressing hers anyway. She reads everything she can, spends way too much time online, is proud to call herself a feminist, and often looks at issues through the perspective of twenty years of training in the martial art of Aikido. For more information, see her web site.

Asked by her boss this year if she wanted to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner, Nancy declined because, as she told me, she couldn't stand to be in the same room with
George W. Bush.

Nancy will be posting periodically. She hopes to add more reporting and a legal perspective to In This Moment's normal fare. Adding her to the staff will also allow me more time to do a little reporting on my own.

Her first posts are today. Welcome Nancy!
