As George W. Bush goes down, down, down in the polls, we are left to ponder the question: Will Bush break Richard Nixon’s dismal 24 percent approval rating? That’s the amount of support Nixon had just before he resigned in 1974 because of the Watergate scandal.
Today CNN reports that Bush only has the support of 32 percent of the people, a new personal low for the president.
I’ve read some commentary about how Bush’s drop in the polls hurts the nation. It could make him a lame duck for the majority of his last term in office.
I can think of nothing better for this country. It may well take us decades to recover from the damage he has done. Anything that hampers him can only be good, or at least, that's the view from Kansas.
